2017:  Planning Has Started!
Planning is well under way for the 8th annual Ta-Ta Trot in Selinsgrove on July 8, 2017!  We are hard at work engaging with various individuals, groups, businesses, and authorities to ensure this may be our best year yet!  We are hoping to get attendance from all 50 states once again!  Contact Us if you would like to join the Ta-Ta Trot Committee.

2016:  Success in Selinsgrove Again!
Our 2nd year in Selinsgrove proved successful once again as we returned to the streets of the borough and ended in the Seals' football stadium!  2016 also marked the end of our founder, Julie Rockey, serving as the Chairwoman and President of the Ta-Ta Trot Board of Directors.  Julie has decided to step away from the year-long activities that go into planning the event in order to spend more time with husband, Clint, and son, Maverick.  Lisa Pfleegor will be our new leader in 2017 and beyond as we continue to work to "finding a cure now, so our daughters and sons don’t have to."

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition was presented a check for $17,521.15 at the annual state conference in October 2016.

Geisinger Health System's Marie Lamey Fund was presented a check for $10,852.11 in September 2016.

Evangelical Community Hospital Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health was presented a check for $14,267.65 in September 2016.

2015:  We Moved to Selinsgrove!
2015 marked the start of a new era for the Ta-Ta Trot as we moved to a new location in a new town.  The 6th annual Ta-Ta Trot called Selinsgrove Area School District (SASD) in the borough of Selinsgrove, PA our new home base!  This difficult decision was made in order to best serve the mission of the Ta-Ta Trot.  SASD and Selinsgrove Borough worked hand in hand with us to make the event a success raising $99,663.46 and donating a profit totaling $63,914.75 to three Pennsylvania-based breast health organizations once again.  We THANK YOU for the support as the Ta-Ta Trot transitioned to a new era of "finding a cure now, so our daughters don't have to."

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition was presented a check for $25,565.90 at the annual state conference in October 2015.

Geisinger Health System's Marie Lamey Fund was presented a check for $17,869.13 in August 2015.

Evangelical Community Hospital Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health was presented a check for $20,452.72 in September 2015.

2014:  "50 in 5" accomplished, virtual registration added, and $111,000+ raised!

The Ta-Ta Trot Committee set a high bar to have all 50 U.S. states + D.C. represented at our 5th year event in 2014, and the Ta-Ta Trot community did not disappoint!  We were ecstatic to have a trotter register from each of the 50 U.S. states + D.C. that participated either with us or from the comfort of their state through the new virtual registration option.  Such a massive presence of 2,678 trotters in total led to an equally impressive amount of money raised.  In total the Ta-Ta Trot raised $111,603.69, resulting in profits of $61,236.57.

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition was presented with a check in the amount of $27,121.68 at the annual breast cancer conference on October 13, 2014.  At that same presentation, PBCC President Pat Halpin-Murphy and then Pennsylvania's First Lady Susan Corbett completely surprised Founder, Julie Rockey, by informing her that the Ta-Ta Trot will be PBCC's 2015 Shining Light Award recipient!

Geisinger Health System's Marie Lamey Fund was presented a check for $18,028.05 in August 2014.

To continue our mission to support local breast health initiatives, Evangelical Community Hospital Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health was added as a third beneficiary in 2014 and presented a check for $16,086.85 in August 2014.  The conclusion of our 2014 season also presented a chance to reflect and embark on seeking incorporation and 501c3 tax-exempt status to ensure and sustainability and viability of the Ta-Ta Trot for many years to come.

2013:  4 Digit Registration and 22 States Represented!
1,793 pair of feet pounded the Sunbury streets in 2013!  Our goal of 1,300 was blown out of the water by late June, and as the event grew closer, we had no idea what was about to happily explode on us!  We proudly hosted trotters from 22 states!!!  However, our drums really started beating when we raised $73,160.29 from the event, resulting in a profit of $48,351.10.  The PA Breast Cancer Coalition was presented a check for $26,545.16 at the annual state conference in October 2013. 2012:  50% Participation Growth in 3rd Year
Image: 2012 PBCC Check Presentation While we were a little shy of the Committee's goal for 1,000 trotters in 2012, no one could be ashamed of our final trotter count of 981!  What was even more impressive was the fact we raised $43,162.79 and profited $30,049.14 with the help of trotter registrations, business donations, and the addition of the much anticipated team component.  Trotters had the choice of donating their funds to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition or Geisinger Health System's Marie Lamey Fund.  Both checks were presented in October to each respective organization ($15,296.04 (PA Breast Cancer Coalition) and $14,114.77 (Geisinger Health System - Marie Lamey Fund)).

The 2011 Ta-Ta Trot grew by leaps and bounds on all levels.  655 trotters participated raising $14,274.54.  Proceeds were presented at the PA Breast Cancer Coalition's annual October conference in memory of Marie Lamey, RN.

Electronic chip timing by PA Runners was added and awards were given to overall, 1st, and 2nd place runners in both male and female categories.  Numerous sponsors had booths and gave a portion of their proceeds to the Ta-Ta Trot.  Kids' activities, a Live broadcast by Tom Morgan of Y106.5, and 60 door prizes from local businesses were distributed to round out the very successful event.

2010:  A Trot is Born
The 1st Ta-Ta Trot was held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Sunbury at the Shikellamy State Park, aka "the Marina".  62 individuals contributed (50 day of participants) raising $3,361.26 for the Susan G Komen NorthEastern Pennsylvania Chapter ($2,861.26 via Ta-Ta Trot promotions) and American Cancer Society ($500 via private donation).  The 1st Ta-Ta Trot was organized within a 2 month time-span by 4 volunteers operating on a $500 marketing and sponsorship budget.  Despite these factors, the Ta-Ta Trot event was successful in raising $3,361.26 to help promote breast health in the Susquehanna Valley.
